9/17/2023 0 Comments Titanic and olympic slipways![]() ![]() Internally, the project provides over 12,000 sqm of floor space across 5 levels whose combined height is equivalent to a 10-storey building. Titanic was painted in White Star's black hull. Most tangible of these are the Slipway Gardens where the outlines of the Olympic and Titanic will be traced into the paving to allow visitors to walk the length of their decks once more. To provide better photographs against the steelwork of the gantry, Olympic's hull was painted white during building, then repainted after launch. Olympic was launched first, in October 1910, with Titanic seven months later. Titanic Quarter has proudly acquired the status as a premier global destination for leisure and business tourism. Olympic and Titanic were built together, with Olympic in the No 2 slipway. Opened in 2012, Titanic Belfast with its nine interactive galleries, spectacular banqueting facilities in its 750-seater Titanic Suite and extensive exhibition / education space, is redefining what Belfast means to its citizens and to the rest of the world. RMS Olympic was a British ocean liner and the lead ship of the White Star Line s trio of Olympic -class liners.
